What do you think is the best solution to the Hawaiian rights issue? The Akaka Bill should be passed to allow Native Hawaiians to have a form of sovereignty similar to that of Native Americans. Hawaii should secede from the United States and once again become a sovereign nation. There should be no recognition of Hawaiian rights separate from the rights of any other United States citizens. How will the shutdown of Aloha and ATA airlines most impact tourism in Maui County? Fewer seats on airlines will mean not as many visitors will come to the islands. Higher ticket prices will discourage visitors from coming. Less convenient flights will hurt tourism. Not much impact; the carriers were not major players in interisland or overseas travel.
