If the animal rights activists cared as much about human rights, the world would be a much better place. Animal cruelty should not be tolerated under any circumstance. What is there definition of cruelty. I too attended the Rodeo in Makawao recently. These animals were treated very well. I have also heard of similar concerns regarding circuses. I have not witnessed anything that would constitute cruelty. Again, animal cruelty should not be tolerated but we should also not tolerate busy bodies that want to dictate what we can and can't do in a free society.

Terrifying and/or intentionally angering an animal IS animal cruelty. Child abuse does not always leave physical marks either.

I have gone to watch this July 4th Makawao Rodeo Event, which I found to be entertaining and enjoyable. The participants in all events do not harm any of the animals nor is there any cruelty done to them. If anything, the anilmals have the greater potential of harming the participants. My daughter has been with the rodeo for 6 years and will be competing in next years event which I am looking forward to once again be a proud spectator.
