Men, Women, Transvestites, Transgenders, Hermaphrodites... The world isn't black and white. Can a transgender male marry a transgender female? Is it better to have a gay woman marry a straight man in order to have a recognized marriage? Why is this even an issue? One has to consider all varieties and possibilities of sexuality in order to discuss this topic thoroughly - which seems to be beyond the scope of the contributers to this post. Who really cares? Marriage is an antiquated ritual, likely to end up in divorce anyway. Look at it this way - Gays have a right to be miserable too. So let them get married.

California wants same sex marriage, well let them have it. But to force other states includeing Hawaii for that reason, should be out lawed. People should reconize choices they make in their own lives. Not to be forced by there own free will. California Govener isn't doing anything about it!

continued... “Amending the state constitution in November would not only protect the definition of marriage,” Tyree said, “but also will protect the First Amendment rights of people who believe that marriage is the union of a man and a woman.”

No to gay marriages being legal!! Why do gay people get to trample over the rights of others?? Like the clerks in CA who got reassigned for not performing the marriage ceremony because of his/her relgious beliefs!!! See article below: Clerks Reassigned after Refusing to Perform Gay 'Marriages' At least 14 employees with the San Diego County Clerk’s office have been reassigned because they expressed religious objections to gay “marriage” and refused to perform the ceremonies. The California Supreme Court legalized same-sex “marriage” in May. County Clerk Gregory Smith's office has issued 549 licenses and performed 287 ceremonies since the "weddings" began Monday. Jenny Tyree, associate marriage analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said state workers’ moral and religious beliefs are in tension with the state. Voters will decide how this plays out when they vote on a state marriage amendment defining marriage as between one man and woman.

Civil rights should not subject to "mob rule" voting. If gays can be denied civil rights, who is next.

Sad, that even here in the so-called land of aloha, there is still a sizable percentage of people who are so filled with hate that they would deny basic happiness to others they dont even know, based on their own narrow-mindedness.
