‘Chamber Music’ concert was excellent

May 27, 2012
The Maui News

I attended the free Ebb & Flow concert performance "Chamber Music from San Francisco" held recently at Seabury Hall.

Two violinists (Sarn Oliver and Mariko Smiley), one violist (David Kim) and one cellist (Peter Wyrick) from the San Francisco Symphony performed to a completely full house (200 seats) with standing room only for others. They played works by Ravel, Britten, Oliver and even a newly composed piece by Robert Pollock, executive director of Ebb & Flow and a retired professional composer and pianist with extraordinary classical arts training.

I was so impressed to be seeing and listening to talent of this caliber on Maui. It was truly an exhilarating and uplifting experience.

If you missed out on this one, there are three more concerts planned on Maui in June and July. They are free to the general public. Let's get out and fill the seats and wholeheartedly welcome them to our lovely island.
