'THE CHRISTMAS STORY'
King's Cathedral will present its annual Christmas production featuring "The Christmas Story, The Musical" beginning at 7 p.m. at the church, 777 Mokulele Highway in Kahului. With a cast of more than 100 Maui performers, this annual Christmas event centers on the traditional story of Mary and Joseph and the events leading up to the birth of their first child. With the child being hailed as the future "King of Kings" and with all the attention that he is getting from kings of far-off lands, they must protect him from the diabolical King Herod, who seeks to kill him. The show will also be precluded by a Hawaiian Christmas greeting of new and old, as well as '50s-style music, Santa's sleigh and more. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 to 12. FIRSTLIGHT SCREENINGS
The annual FirstLight Academy Screenings will present a collection of films during the Christmas season and New Year's holidays. More than 30 films will screen as part of this annual presentation of the most award-worthy films of 2009. "That Evening Sun" will show at 5 p.m. and "The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond" at 7:30 p.m. at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater. WILLIE K
Charismatic island performer Willie Kahaiali'i, aka Willie K, will share his love of opera, his huge voice and his outstanding guitar and ukulele talents with audiences beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater. Joining him onstage will be the Maui Pops Orchestra under music director James Durham. Willie K's passion, creativity, humor and musical virtuosity combine in exceptional complexity that often brings audiences to their feet. 'A CHRISTMAS WISH'
The Na Leo Lani O Maui Hawaiian choir will present its "A Christmas Wish" concert from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the Historic Iao Theater. Under the direction of kumu hula Uluwehi Guerrero and Gale Wisehart, the choir will sing classic Hawaiian tunes and Christmas favorites. There will also be a special segment devoted to Saint Damien. SING-IT-YOURSELF MESSIAH Maui Choral Arts brings back its "musical gift to the community" with the ninth annual Sing-It-Yourself Messiah at 3 p.m. in the Monarchy Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa. This year features the largest chamber ensemble yet, with 12 players from Maui, Molokai and Oahu, including players from the Maui Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. The three Maui soloists are Robert E. Wills, Leighanna Locke and Karyn Sarring. The first half features Part I of Handel's "Messiah," and the second half will be familiar Christmas carols. The Maui Concert Chorus and Maui Community College Chorus will also perform "A Musicological Journey Through the 12 Days of Christmas." This year for the first time, MCA will include a "Charitable Gift-Giving Fair" with tables for local nonprofits to raise community awareness.Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for youth 18 and younger; tickets at the door are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, $8 for youths. 'HOLIDAY ENCHANTMENT'

The Maui Tibetan Buddhist Center will present its "A Tibetan Christmas Masquerade Benefit Party" fundraiser at Moana Cafe & Bakery in Paia. MAKAWAO TOWN JAMBOREE
The Makawao Town Jamboree, a free live music jam, is happening from 5 to 8 p.m. every Sunday at the Kirsten Bunny Art Center Courtyard, 3660 Baldwin Ave. For the love of music and Makawao, some of Maui's finest musicians will show up to play music outdoors under the stars.
