Congratulations to MMMC
Maui Memorial Medical Center deserves congratulations on the recruitment of its first cardiac surgeon.
Last week the hospital announced that Dr. Richard “Pat” Cochran will be joining the staff of MMMC on Aug. 1.
Dr. Cochran currently serves as the medical director of cardiothoracic surgery at the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute in Lewiston, Maine. His impressive credentials include teaching medicine and surgery at the University of Washington, Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and the University of Wisconsin.
Wesley Lo, chief executive officer of Maui Memorial, said Dr. Cochran will be a “cornerstone” of the hospital’s cardiovascular program as it progresses in the building of its Heart, Brain and Vascular Tower. Lo said the hospital will be able to perform open-heart surgery and angioplasty in the near future.
