So many island food events are on the calendar now through the summer, it can be overwhelming to choose just which ones to attend or not to attend.

One you should be sure to mark your calendars for is the June 24 “Wild Affair: Winemaker Dinner Extraordinaire” at the freestanding Roy’s Kihei in the Pi‘ilani Shopping Village.

Acclaimed chef, cookbook guru, TV star and owner, Roy Yamaguchi, will make a rare Maui appearance and he’s bringing in some big guns to join him.

“It will be a pairing of local wild game and exotic island flavors with the magnificent wines from the portfolio of renowned winemaker Greg Brewer along with ports and cigars,” says Restaurant Manager Karina Carvajal. “I promise it will be the event of the summer and maybe the entire year!”

In fact, this is the culmination of a nationwide tour Roy is now on, appearing at his — count ‘em — 35 restaurants with top winemakers and chefs and such.
