Panasonic tourney set for Oct. 5 SPRECKELSVILLE — The 35th annual Panasonic Lester Hamai Memorial Women’s Golf Tournament is scheduled for Oct. 5 at Maui Country Club. The event is a fundraiser for the Maui County Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The 18-hole stroke play tournament will begin with a 7 a.m. shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded for overall low gross and low net, as well as for flights. Prizes will also be given for the first hole-in-one and closest to the pin. The tournament is open to all members of Maui Women’s golf clubs with a USGA handicap index of 34.6 or below. Participants will be flighted according to handicap. The $75 entry fee pays for the greens fee, cart rental and an awards luncheon at Maui Beach Hotel immediately following completion of play. Entry forms are available at golf courses throughout Maui. The entry deadline is Sept. 28. The field is limited to the first 72 paid entries. For more information, call Dot Tam Ho at 877-5433.
